Vitamix 5000

When I purchased my Vitamix 5000 a few months ago, I knew that I would like it and use it often. However, now I find myself using it almost every day, for breakfast lunch and dinner. For what once seemed to be such a burden having to cook soup, allowing it to slow cook throughout the day, I can now make my meal in just moments. The Vitamix 5200 not only provides me with a quick meal, but a very healthy one.

To make my soup, I generally throw in a small handful of some kind of dried beans (lentils or maybe split pea) into the Vitamix 5000 container and turn the blender on high. Within just seconds the beans are pulverized into little chunks, or if I choose to keep it grinding, the beans become a fine powder. I then throw in whatever fresh vegetables I have in the refrigerator and add them to the Vitamix 5000 container. Adding just a small amount of broth the cover the vegetables, along with my spices, I simply turn the machine on.

The blade action, along with the speed of the Vitamix 5000, cuts and chops the vegetables. Because of the intensity and friction of the turning blade action, the ingredients become a hot steaming soup in less than four minutes. I know I’m eating healthy nutritious food, because I made it myself in just minutes.

In the mornings, after my workout, I enjoy making myself a frozen smoothie. My Vitamix 5000 easily does that for me. I simply take frozen berries out of my freezer, add protein powder, and sometimes a banana, place it in the Vitamix container and turn the unit on. Instead of heating it up, like the soup, the frozen fruit expands as the machine grinds. The natural effect of grinding the frozen food refreezes at as it expands, turning it into a delicious healthy frozen treat.

When the weather started to cold here in the last few weeks, I found myself not wanting to have my frozen smoothie. I still use my Vitamix 5000 as it can just as easily juice fresh fruits and vegetables into a tasty drink for me to enjoy after my morning workout. Lately I’ve been making my morning juice with a couple of carrots, an apple, a banana and protein powder in just a little amount of water. In less than a minute my juicer has made me a healthy nutritional juice for breakfast.

I knew when I bought my Vitamix 5000 it could save me a lot of time every day by fixing myself nutritional glass juice every morning. What I didn’t realize, was that I would be using it for dinner and lunch too. Having an appliance that works so well in my kitchen allows me to fix my meals without using up my pots and pans, or time.
